"Soul care is about stewarding our souls well so that we can live, lead, give and enjoy through life’s journey.  If we don’t, we’ll burn out and give up. We simply cannot run our lives on empty. Jesus said, we can indeed gain the whole world but lose our souls in the process."  (http://pottersinn.com)

We often go through our lives trying to meet the constant stresses of a full and demanding schedule. This inevitably leads to both physical and soul exhaustion. Soul Care II is an opportunity to begin to intentionally develop space in your life for rest, rejuvenation and transformation. Take the time to quiet and nurture your tired soul. You will begin to open up to deeper connection with yourself, others, and God while exploring what causes our resistance to slowing down.

As Christians, we should be committed to growth in our own lives.  Because of our vocations, we all understand and appreciate the complexities and effort required to create internal and relational change.  Soul Care II can be a powerful catalyst for you to nurture an authentic change in your personal and professional life.

PACCC 2012 Conference entitled Soul Care II is intended to reach counsellors, social workers, psychologists, pastors, and lay ministry leaders in your communities.  Anyone who feels they would like to Rejuvinate...........Revitalize...............Refresh................Renew..............Relax.............Rest!

Through Soul Care II, we want to come alongside to encourage you; to remind you of how vital your ministry is to so many people; and to give you an opportunity for rest along the way.

Main Speakers: Stephen and Gwen Smith

steve-and-gwen-pictures-005

Our speakers this year, Stephen and Gwen Smith, are familiar with the pull toward doing instead of being.  God has used their life journey to teach them their need for good soul care and gifted them to speak into the lives of others.   Their style of teaching includes group dialogue, personal reflection, and sharing God’s Word. Soul Care is at the heart of their ministry.  Their passion for God paves the way to living abundantly and taking care to embrace soul custody.

Steve and Gwen’s ministry was so well received that having them return to take us deeper on the Soul Care journey resonated with the desire they stirred within us last year at the 2011 PACCC AGM and Conference in Banff, AB.

For those who attended previously, there will be new material and you likely need no further encouragement to come.

If you have yet to experience their ministry, we would encourage you to come and be refreshed as Steve and Gwen weave together reflective teaching and rich soul care in a way that models the profound grace of our Lord.

Steve and Gwen have been involved in Christian ministry since 1979 as frequent speakers and retreat leaders.  They have committed themselves to the spiritual growth and transformation of individuals, couples, churches, and organizations.

Steve and Gwen will engage us in discussions, group activities, and teaching toward discovery of balance in life.   They bring abundant life experience and a passion for God’s desired purpose for the soul.  We will be blessed by their ministry.

Steves_new_book

By the time of our conference, Steve's new book will be out which is really something I think would fit.... It's titled, "The Jesus Life: Eight Ways to Rediscover Authentic Christianity."  The eight ways are all soul care.

He is the author of many books, most recently Soul Custody, Embracing Soul Care: Making Space for What Matters Most.

He also writes a weekly cyber devotional through www.pottersinn.com.
